Syllabus for GSSSB Staff Nurse Exam

  1. Paper 1 - GK
    • Total Marks: 150
    • Time: 2 hour

  2. Paper 2 - Computer Proficiency Test
    • Total Marks: 75
    • Time: 1.15 hour

    Exam Pattern:
  • For the recruitment of Staff Nurse, GSSSB will take the exams in two stages. The first stage is Written test and the second one is Computer Proficiency Test.
  • Candidate who pass the first stage written exam may appear for Computer Proficiency test.
  • The objective type written test shall consists of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) and O.M.R (Optical Mark Reader) system.
  • Every question will be of 1 Mark.
  • The candidate will have to attempt all questions.
  • Every unattended question and Every attempted question with incorrect answer / multiple answer / over writing answer will carry a negative mark of 0.25.
  • In every question there will be one option of "Not Attempted". If the candidatedoes not intend to answer, he may select this option. If the candidate selects this option, the negative marks shall not be applied.
  • Below is the detailed syllabus of both of the exams

Written Test (150 marks / 2 hours):

  • General Knowledge (30 Marks):
    1. History of Gujarat state
    2. Gujarat's culture and geography
    3. The Constitution of India
    4. Sports and activities like that in India
    5. Knowledge and understanding of basic science
    6. Current affairs / events
    7. Basic knowledge of computer
    8. Reasoning test
    9. Environment
    10. Administration
    11. Government's various schemes and projects
    12. Panchayati Raj
    13. Disaster management
    14. Mathematical test, etc
  • Gujarati Literature and Grammar (20 Marks)
    1. English Grammar (10 Marks)

      Academic Subjects related (90 Marks)
    1. Subjective questions from the subjects related to the educational qualification of the post

    Computer Proficiency Test (75 marks / 1.15 hours):

    1. Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets (15 marks)
    2. Emailing with file attachments (15 marks)
    3. Microsoft Power point slides / presentations (15 marks)
    4. Word typing / Word formatting ( MS Word – English and Gujarati) (30 marks)
    5. Sports and activities like that in India

      Important Notes:
  • The syllabus for written exam from no. 1 to 3 will be similar to the level of the curriculum of 12th std of Gujarat Board.
  • The board will declare the mode of the exam (Written MCQ-OMR or Online MCQ) based on the number of the confirmed applications submitted by candidates.
  • The minimum passing marks of written exam is 40%.
  • Candidates who obtain those minimum passing marks from the written exam will be qualified for the Computer Proficiency Test.
